About The Good Bye Lenin Hostel
Located just outside Krakow Good Bye Lenin Hostel is a cozy hostel century-old cabin that offers fantastic accommodation to visitors looking to spend a few nights in Krakow. The hostel offers a perfect place to enjoy the nature, given that the national park is just meters away. It’s a wonderful place to make new friends, relax and hike or ski or even snowboard during the winter months. There is free advice from staffs regarding the routes, and they can give you lots of advice if you want outdoor adventure.
Located conveniently outside Krakow city center, it is just a short bus drive to the hostel. Buses frequent the hostel routes and you can catch one very easily. It has great scenic beauty, given that it’s located within trees and just a couple of meters from the national park. Although there are not many options but you will readily find them in Zakopane, or medium-sized supermarkets.
The facility has dorm rooms both on the top and bottom floors. Those located downstairs have their own private baths while those located upstairs have shared bathrooms. There bunk beds in all the rooms. Once you check in, he staff will give you linen covers which you must prepare yourself. One downside is that there are limited charging sockets in every room, with just 4-6 sockets in each room. But the good thing is that the lounge has lots of charging points. Also provided are lockers, but you will have to first part with a small deposit for the key. The beds are comfortable wooden bunks, but can make some noise when you move around.
Their bathrooms are sparkling clean and properly looked after, with hot water always available. You however need to note that the demand for showers can be high sometimes, especially when people are just coming back from hiking. Watch out for the slippery floor though!
Overall, Good Bye Lenin is a perfect place for one or two nights of hiking. With a great atmosphere, you can choose to make staying here relaxing or strenuous, and this depends on the amount of hiking that you want. The fact that it’s located outside Krakow means it’s slightly isolated, which makes it an ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city life. It brings you closer to nature, given that the national park is literally on the doorstep. With free and strong Wi-Fi, you can be sure that you’ll keep in touch with your friends and family without incurring extra costs.
